Design has always been a part of my life, it started with doodles in the margins of my notebooks and eventually led me to a career where I get to blend creativity with problem-solving. I’m Salman, a multidisciplinary designer based in Canada, and the artist behind OnceUponaLine, my creative space for illustration and storytelling.

With five years in digital brand design and two years in product design & UI/UX, I’ve worked across technology, real estate, fashion, and NGOs, helping brands tell their stories through thoughtful, engaging visuals. My journey began with a degree in Visual Communication Design from BNU, focusing on branding and digital media, and later led me to Langara College, where I earned a postgraduate diploma in Web and Mobile App Design and Development. At Langara, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop four digital products, including SAFE, ECO, and ToysTreasure, centered around solving real-world challenges with user-first thinking.

 

I’m passionate about creating intuitive, visually compelling experiences, whether it’s a digital product, a brand identity, an illustration, or motion graphics. My design process is rooted in curiosity, empathy, and accessibility, ensuring every project balances creativity with purpose.

 

Outside of work, I find inspiration in city walks, typography on old storefronts, and the rich flavors of Pakistani cuisine. I believe great design comes from paying attention to the details around us, whether it’s the way light hits a surface or how a user naturally interacts with an interface.
