Our three objectives
Joyful

Empowering

Compassionate

Empathizing with Users
We focused on understanding two key user groups: families looking to donate outgrown toys and charities seeking specific toy donations. By diving into their challenges and goals, we developed personas and mapped user journeys. This approach ensured ToysTreasure delivers a seamless, meaningful experience for both donors and charities, addressing their unique needs and pain points.
PROBLEM
In the charity sector, limited accessibility, lack of awareness, and minimal emotional engagement create significant barriers to effective toy donations. Donors face challenges in locating toys that meet specific needs, coordinating drop-offs, and fostering meaningful connections due to fragmented information and impersonal transactional experiences.
User stories
As a busy parent, I want a platform where I can quickly find charities that accept specific types of toys so I can donate without spending hours searching online.

Retrospective
This project centered on creating a user-friendly platform that connects donors with charities for toy donations. We prioritized understanding the needs of both parties through user research. This informed the design of the platform, ensuring a seamless donation experience for families and an efficient toy collection for charities.
Continuous iteration and user testing were crucial throughout the development process. We rapidly prototyped and tested features to optimize the user journey for both donors and charities. This resulted in a user-friendly interface that facilitates quick toy listing, donation management, and efficient charity communication.
Enhanced skills in prototyping and interactive elements increased user engagement, while the use of components and variants maintained design consistency. Ultimately, these efforts balanced usability with business needs, significantly improving the user experience.

Conclusion & Reflections
ToysTreasure was more than just a project, it was a journey of discovery and design evolution. From early wireframes to the final polished app, I learned how user insights and iterative testing can transform ideas into engaging experiences. Every challenge taught me something new about designing with purpose and empathy.
Future plans & AI Possibilities
If I were to reimagine this project, integrating AI could have been a game changer. Imagine AI-powered tools that quickly generate wireframe options or even suggest design tweaks based on real-time user data. This could have accelerated concept development and fine-tuned usability insights, making our design process even more efficient. Moreover, predictive models might have helped anticipate user needs and streamline testing iterations, allowing me to focus more on creative strategy and less on repetitive tasks.
